Bisphenol

Thats a weird chemical. Why do I care?
Its present in many plastics. It is the basic building block for polycarbonate, the see-through, shatter-proof plastic that resembles glass, and is also used to make the epoxy resins lining the insides of most tin cans, along with some dental sealants, sports helmets, and compact discs

Yes. So what?
Its a potential endocrine disruptor. That means it could be toxic.

Says who?
Health Canada.

Anyone who has been following such news regularly will not be stunned by the report itself but will be stunned by the regularity of such news items. It is easy to bring in these compunds into existence but is almost an insurmountable task to get them out from the market and the bodies of living species. If it is tough to do that it in Canda, its next to impossible in India. This means, more untraceable health effects on the common man. This means, even if you are active, eat healthy home made food at correct times, dont have any bad habits and are a good person, you could still end up with cancer of the stomach antrum. Though ironically, this might actually mean more GDP, Gross National Happiness is certain to be hit.

From what I read, this compound is quite widely used. Any ideas / comments from chemists / chemical engineers?

இனிய புத்தாண்டு நல்வாழ்த்துக்கள்
(To those who cant read this, it is happy new year in tamil)

I really don't care when tamil new year is: Jan 15 or Apr 13/14 or any other date. But, when the state deliberately wants to drive its own ideology instead of caring about welfare activities, we should most certainly protest. Here is my two cents worth protest (following idea from here).

Happy tamil new year to everyone.

The Canadian PM also extends his wishes. Seems he too does not care about MK's ideological fanaticism.

From Need to Crave to Gratification

She needs. He needed to be needed. Great match. Perfect pathology.

Then the need becomes a crave.

She makes him crave with her helplessness. He craves for more opportunities to display selflessness. Salutations to the manipulative brain. Long live the egotistic mind.

And then, the game begins. A vicious game of selflessness vs helplessness, ego gratification vs manipulation. The game unfortunately enters a non socially optimal nash equilibrium.
