Aham annamasmi

We are what we eat. A basic and fundamental theorem that unfortunately beats most of us. We are absolutely nothing else but what we eat. That includes our finger nails, blood, heart muscles, WBC, neurons in the brain and.... the thoughts in our brain. We eat better and we will have better heart and better thoughts.

So, avoid chemical rich food, avoid packaged food, avoid frozen food, avoid microwaved food. The last one is especially bad. That is basically nuking our food. Avoid this crap. Non-organic food is NOT food. Food cannot be anything but organic. If its not organic, its not food.

I am sure many of us would have read news about how fish, deer and other animals have died because they ate plastic bags etc. I used to wonder when I was a kid how come these animals did not know that what they are eating is gonna kill them. Now, sadly, I know the answer.

Watch this video to hear what Mark Bittman has to say about the food we eat.

PS:
1.) Read this article - Rethinking the meat guzzler
2.) Changed the title of the post

@sarav - yup yup.. watch the video da! very informative..

@anon - I have decided not to respond to anonymous commenters because, usually, atleast one of the following two is true

a.) Their comment usualy has nothing informative. They themselves are not sure about the comments they post. Its just a random rant based on some weird feeling they have. Nothing substantial.
For e.g., in your case, this post has nothing about vegetarianism vs non-vegetarianism.

b.) The comments are usually unnecessarily aggressive and childish. For e.g., usage of language like 'yak!! plz grow up'.

As a consequence of the comments being neither informative nor polite, anon commenters dont want to publicly stand up for their view points. This casts great doubt on the credibility of the comment and the integrity of the commenter.

So, if you want to make a serious point, make your point and stand up for it. All the while being polite. This shows the commenter in good light and helps make progress in the subject being discussed.

So, unless you identify yourself, I am sorry. I will have to simply ignore your comments.

Peter Singer has a great book on this topic "The Ethics of What we Eat" he is perhaps the leading philosophic author on animal rights and perhaps now also, eating ethically. I highly recommend him for those interested.
