वीतरागविषयं वा चित्तम्

वीतरागविषयं वा चित्तम् - Yoga sutras, chapter 1, sutra 37
To still a disturbed mind, get in the presence of a mind that is in no way disturbed by the same issues!

This means, if you are a counsellor, counsel only on those issues which one has reflected upon deeply for many years to obtain stillness even at the deepest sub-conscious level. Likewise, if one seeks counselling, find some one who qualifies in that fashion. If not, one might be better of handling ones troubles oneself.
